Desperate times call for desperate measures, which in Wales means that some desperate folks are resorting to eating pet food in order to survive.
Record inflation is leaving many families behind. No matter how many hours they work, there is just not enough money for food, which is skyrocketing in price due to rampant market fraud and financial terrorism.
“We have people who are eating pet food,” says Mark Seed, the owner of a Welsh food bank in Cardiff. Seed told the BBC that people are working “every hour they can” and are still unable to make ends meet.
“[There are] people who are trying to heat their food on a radiator or a candle. These are shocking kind of stories that are actually the truth.”
According to Seed, Cardiff is still a “flourishing city,” all things considered. But there are “pockets of deprivation” where those in the worst economic shape are now having to live like dogs just to survive.
“People who are in those positions of poverty would be the first to tell you that it’s not easy to have a voice, it’s not easy to have your dignity and show yourself as someone who counts and unless you do that no one is going to listen,” Seed added.
“Buildings go up, the economy flourishes and firms move here – but there’s a gap and we’re trying to close it.” (Related: Food inflation just reached a record high across the United Kingdom.)
In addition to some residents eating pet food, Welsh pub owners are also making changes by turning off the lights at all times – even while open for business.
This new drinking-in-darkness norm is definitely a change in vibe for many drinkers, but it is a necessity in order to remain solvent, we are told.
“I usually go without to try to make things better in my house,” a 54-year-old woman named Elizabeth Williams told Seed about how she now lives.
“Even with my son working – and he contributes as well – it’s difficult because he has to live as well and he’s got needs.”
Seed describes what he is seeing all across Cardiff as an “arc of poverty.” One of his workers, a Sudanese woman named Hayat Mohamed who is familiar with poverty, says what she is seeing in Wales is “shocking.”
“The economic change, what is happening, what is going on in the whole world … the world is changing now,” Mohamed said. “All people are suffering.”
Sadly, Cardiff does not even rank in the top 10 cities for deprivation by county. This would suggest that many other areas of Wales are doing far worse than Cardiff – are their residents eating pet food, too?
Elsewhere in Europe, residents are having to burn trash just to stay warm, while in others electric vehicles (EVs) are now prohibited for use because there is not enough electricity to go around for everyone.
“Today it’s pet food: soon it’ll be each other,” warns Jacob M. Thompson, writing for Wine Press News, about how the next phase of the global starvation protocol will be cannibalism.
“This is just the beginning of things to come,” added a commenter about how things are about to get a whole lot worse.
Another quoted Psalm 9:17, which reads:
“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
“Coming to America for sure when the food shortages become famine and say, a hungry couple kill their children and turn them into lunch just to survive and their love has become as cold as ice,” added another. “Russia, China, the Jesuits, and Klaus Schwab are succeeding and living like kings.”
