Drop the bong. Hemp and marijuana are not the same. Rolling Stone Magazine reports: “Hemp isn’t weed and hemp can’t get you high—it’s a bust as a recreational drug. Hemp is marijuana’s non-psychoactive sibling, derived, like weed, from the cannabis sativa plant. During WWII, American farmers were paid to grow it, cultivating more than 150 million pounds of industrial hemp to support the American war effort.”

The Hemp plant is one of the first and oldest known human agriculture crops. The use of hemp dates back over 10,000 years explains a 2009 Scientific American article on sustainable agriculture. U.S. Government Archives identify the first Bibles, maps, charts, Betsy Ross’s flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp. Founding fathers George Washington, Thomas Jefferson grew hemp.
The ancient recipe for anointing oil, recorded in the Old Testament book of Exodus (30: 22-23) included over nine pounds of flowering cannabis tops, Hebrew “kaneh-bosm” extracted into a hind (about 6.5 litres) of olive oil, along with a variety of other herbs and spices. The ancient chosen ones were literally drenched in this potent cannabis holy oil. In the New Testament, this same oil was used to anoint Jesus before his crucifixion at Matthew 26:7-12, Mark 14:3-9, Luke 7:37-38, Mark 7:46, John 11:2 and John 12:3-5.
