There is no shortage of dangers to be wary of when attempting to preserve our quality of life. With toxins at every turn, our bodies have become polluted and compromised leaving us with a shadow of the vibrancy we would normally enjoy. Things like food, that would normally be associated with energy and life, are now causing lethargy and death.
How did this happen, and how can we stop food from being a destroyer of our health?
Our food is our greatest source of medicine. It supplies us with the nutrients to optimally fuel our bodies and maintain a high quality of physical and mental health. However, the quality of the food supply has deteriorated significantly, and this has had direct ramifications on our overall well-being.
The problem originates in the quality and health of our seeds. Largely gone are the days of “seed saving” from ancestral plants (heirlooms) that were much closer to the blueprint that nature originally intended to provide us humans with optimal nutrition and digestibility. Now, we have highly hybridized and genetically modified “mutant” seeds that not only fail to provide us with optimal nutrition and digestion, but actually contain known poisons that can cause infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and changes in major organs and the gastrointestinal system.
We then plant those inferior seeds in a soil that has been treated solely as a mechanism for profit rather than a mecca for nutrition. As a result of this mindset, soil has been continuously cropped (stripped of its nutrients) and treated with synthetic fertilizers and chemicals in order to optimize yields and profits. However, this has created inferior and damaged soil conditions, which in turn creates an inferior and damaged food supply that does not properly nourish those who consume it. This ultimately leads to imbalance, pain, and chronic disease conditions that ruin our quality of life.
Unfortunately, the problem with food doesn’t end there. We then subject it to various levels of processing that further denature the original product and renders it with a fraction of its initial nutrients. Not only that, but other synthetic preservatives and additives are put back in to maintain shelf life, which adds another layer of toxicity.
If you choose to eat higher up the food chain and consume animal products, the disaster becomes even more complex. This is due to the fact that we feed these animals with toxic plant foods (focused on a diet heavy in genetically modified corn and soy) and then inject them with hormones and antibiotics, which adds yet another layer of toxins. It almost becomes unthinkable that anything else could be done to make it more poisonous, but adding nitrates to various meat products put that idea to rest with a big old exclamation mark.
The solution to all this mayhem has filled many bookshelves, but let’s make it simple. Eat food closest to its original “format,” and make it as clean, fresh, and whole as possible. A premium example everyone should progress towards is growing their own food with heirloom seeds in fertile soil, picked at the peak of ripeness, and eaten as soon as possible in its whole food state. The further removed you become from this optimal plan, the more deteriorated your food becomes and the less nourishment you ingest. The worst case scenario is eating conventionally grown food products with heavy processing that sits on grocery shelves for months and even years. This is when food has lost its healing ability and the destruction of your health begins.
